Top three benefits:
1. A tailored appointment
Each virtual appointment is private and will last for up to an hour.
To make the most effective use of this time, when booking your appointment we will ask you for key details about your upcoming project. This will enable our experienced teams to research and have an in-depth understanding of your plot and your home building vision prior to your appointment, ensuring it’s tailored specifically to your requirements.
2. In-house architectural design expertise
Do you have a wish list for the design of your dream home? Would you like to gain ideas and inspiration that are relevant to your plot? Members from our Architectural Design team will discuss the potential for your bespoke oak framed home design with you.
3. Planning advice
Planning permission deals with the principle of your future home building project, including its appearance, use, scale, its impact on neighbours and whether it complies with any relevant plans and policies.
We have invited an independent planning consultant to join our clinic in January. During your Zoom appointment, they will talk through your ideas for your design and the possibilities, with the objective of achieving planning permission approval in mind.
Here’s what Debbie Vaughan, a previous attendee, says:
“When I saw an advert for Oakwrights’ Design and Planning Clinic I knew I had to go along, even though it was over seven hours round trip!
I felt privileged to spend a good hour with Helen and her brilliant architectural ideas, and the planning consultant who had extensive planning knowledge.
They answered every one of my numerous questions, examined my potential plot, gave honest advice, along with confidence and inspiration. I knew we absolutely had to do our self-build in partnership with Oakwrights.
Since then, Helen made the same long round trip to our plot. We have also returned to Hereford to visit Oakwrights’ workshops and office, then spent a lovely weekend at their show home, The Woodhouse.
We have just finalised our oak frame home design alongside Helen and the Architectural Design team, and are ready to apply for planning permission.
Exciting times ahead!”
