If you dream of creating an additional living space in your garden that complements your home, we are here to help!
Whether you could benefit from a studio to house a gym and/or home office, or perhaps you are in need of supplementary accommodation, discover how our oak frame annexe offering has endless possibilities for your future build…
Here at Oakwrights, we understand our clients’ wish lists and requirements for their oak frame builds naturally differ. That is why we have carefully developed our annexe offering to provide you with the inspiration you need to nurture your bespoke design.
Think of the annexe you can see pictured above as your starting point; from the overall floorplan to fixtures and finishes, it is a template you can tailor with your local Oakwrights design consultant to meet your exact needs! With this in mind, let’s begin by highlighting some key features of this stand alone, single story design.
An external material palette comprising weatherboarding and timber framed joinery ensures your future annexe will blend beautifully into any backdrop. From here, your eyes are drawn to the L-shaped glazing to the right, welcoming in natural light and the views of your surroundings.
Stepping inside, you arrive in the central bay of this three-bay design. The layout of this annexe comprises a large en-suite bedroom and open-plan kitchen/living area; perfect for family and friends or for holiday accommodation! The vaulted ceiling enhances the sense of space, while the oak frame exudes natural warmth.
Important design considerations, such as the number of bays that will shape the floorplan, and the ridge height, will be influenced by the purpose you have in mind for your new build along with its site positioning. When discussing the possibilities with your design consultant, they will advise whether your future annexe will require planning permission or will fall under permitted development.
Taking your design a step further, key fixtures and finishes have been carefully chosen to create our annexe offering, which you can purchase in its entirety or personalise to capture your vision. For example, you may wish to exchange softwood cladding for oak or incorporate additions such as a log store or timber framed porch.
Our teams will design, manufacture and assemble your oak frame annexe, including your softwood joinery and rafters, studwork, oak eaves and verge, cladding and casement windows. We can also supply and assemble your roof if you require.
Please note:
Depending on factors such as its design and purpose, your single storey annexe may not require planning permission and instead could fall under permitted development rights.
Our design consultants can recommend the best route for your build during your discussions. In the meantime, to read more about permitted development please follow the link below.
