Roland Horwood
Head of IT
Profile
My role is to help everyone at Oakwrights work productively by making sure their, and the company’s IT needs are supported today and in the future.
What is your favourite oak frame project?
I started at Oakwrights in 2004 as a Frame Designer, so it’s one of mine! It was a very straightforward barn home, but the clients were lovely, and it was one of the first projects to use our pioneering WrightWall encapsulation. It looks straightforward, but a lot of time and though went into the whole project from all involved, to make it so. What do you love most about your job?
There is a lot of variation in the job role, allowing me to be challenged regularly. I get satisfaction knowing I can enable people to work, finding efficient solutions to any IT problems they have.

Tania Battersby
Reception
We support the sales team by handling initial telephone and email enquiries to get clients through to the right sales person, or request a call back if they are not available. We input and check data on the Dynamics CRM database, send out brochures, process/frank all outgoing mail and book couriers for parcel collections. We also help with booking meeting rooms, ordering stationery supplies, office refreshments and it seems never enough coffee!
I enjoy talking to clients and being part of a busy, friendly team.

The potential for a story to tell every single day and have one (or three) told to me.
The Hughes Hallett summer house. My home does not back onto water (very much landlocked – it backs onto a cricket field) but I would love this situated at the back of my garden! Summer BBQs and parties galore.
Andy Ellis
Health & Safety Manager
Working in the bespoke self build side of construction means that every project presents their own unique set of challenges. Every build presents an opportunity to learn something new, and ensures that every day is different. Working together with the team at Oakwrights to create dream homes for our clients is incredibly satisfying, and the main reason I’ve been here for so long.
Since starting at Oakwrights in 2004, I’ve had the pleasure to have worked on an incredible range of projects. The success of a project is always down to the choices made at the start; so the ones I’ve enjoyed most have always been those where our clients have understood the importance of appointing a good quality builder to advise and oversee everything from foundations to finishes. It isn’t necessary to have a knowledge of green oak frames, that is what we can bring, but the best builders are those with a willingness to learn and work in partnership with Oakwrights. For these reasons, my standout projects have been: This Isle of Wight home is one of my favourites.
Bill Kier

Belinda Ryder
Financial Controller and Co Secretary
My role is managing the day to day functions of the Accounts Department.
I love the fact that no two days are the same, there is so much variety in the types of projects that we undertake, that even though the company has grown so much since I first started it still feels like a family business, and we are all part of the team.
I think my favourite would have to be one of the houses, completed in the early days of the business. It was one of the first completed projects that I was lucky enough to visit on a staff day out many years ago.
Nicole Davidson
Assistant Accountant
My role is the run the day to day functions of the Accounts Department, focusing on payroll & Monthly Management Accounts.
I love the fact that even 11 years into my Oakwrights journey, I am still learning everyday!
Oakwrights have built too many lovely houses to have a favourite, my favourite styles are the barn and cottage styles.
Helen Phillips

I manage the purchase ledger mainly but assisting with other tasks when required.
I enjoy the busy buzz at the office. The camaraderie at Oakwrights is excellent.
I don’t have a favourite house, I love them all but if I were to build my own, I would cherry pick the best bits, in my opinion, from several projects for my perfect house.
Reuben Jackson
