Chris Mullis
Head of Projects
Profile
As Head of Projects I am responsible for managing Oakwrights site operations, from overseeing the project management team, to the site crews who are busy constructing our clients oak frame homes as smoothly and efficiently as possible.
What do you love most about your job?
I like to work with the clients and their wider team, getting involved in the detail and design to help them get the best results. I also like to see members of my teams progressing through roles. And giving everyone opportunities to develop.
What is your favourite oak frame project?
I really enjoy working on the more challenging projects and technical developments, develop ideas or systems such as Glulam structures or passive house projects.
Alan Tomlinson
Head of Country Buildings Projects
Taking the lead, within a small team of specialists, I steward bespoke Oak Frame projects from sales handover through to completion on site. I’m personally responsible for managing 50+ customer projects per annum whilst also acting in a supervisory capacity for a further 100+ projects managed by junior colleagues.
The special camaraderie and team spirit involved with being part of a specialised ‘team within a team’ who with every project completed, leave further physical legacy for future generations to admire and enjoy.
Favourite oak frame project – Gallimore – Large bespoke face-glazed gym (inc pool plant-room) and separate ‘Party Barn’, alongside a new outdoor swimming pool. A challenging bespoke project that allowed me to get truly ‘hands-on’ as it was being erected by my son during 2020 ‘lockdown’ conditions and thus as part of his existing ‘bubble’ I was a safe addition to the team.Lots of great memories of working very hard alongside my boy in (mostly) good weather and achieving a fantastic finished product for our customer,
Matt Michael
Senior Project Manager
I am a member of the Oakwrights project management team, I am responsible for the development of trainees and department processes.
My favourite part of the job is seeing the final builds, it very rewarding to see a project through from design to the finished structure.
If I had to name a couple of my favourite projects I have worked on I would say ‘The Hedgerows’ which you can see in Episode 6 of the In the Frame series of video documentaries, and the Potts barn style home in Hampshire!
Henry Northover
Project Manager
Assisting the projects team with managing projects whilst managing my own projects.
The thing I love most about my job is the people I work with and seeing each individual project through from start to finish.
I really have a few favourite projects including one at Webbs Meadow our custom build site.
Andrew Mullen
Project manager
Managing the build, start to finish, whilst maintaining good working relationships with clients and contractors.
I love the attention to detail the job requires and seeing a design come to life.
My journey at Oakwrights has just begun, however, I look forward to seeing my first few projects through. That said, my favourite project would have to be the Contemporary home in Wales.
Luke Cuddington
I work within the Outbuildings Project Management Team, co-ordinating subcontractors, liaising with Frame Designers and organising material lists, with the aim to sustain a smooth and efficient transition from sales handover to project completion.
I thoroughly enjoy building a rapport with my clients throughout the projects journey and gain a sense of reward seeing the finished product.
I’ve only had a few projects thus far, and looking forward to enjoying my future ones.
Joseph Harding
I joined the team in April 2021 after studying Real Estate Management at university. Since joining the Projects team, I have assisted with the day-to-day coordination with other departments and suppliers, while managing my own projects.
What I enjoy most about working at Oakwrights is the opportunity to be involved in builds that are truly unique and the enthusiasm that everyone across the company has for the product.
Steve Bell

Tim Lindup
As an Oakwrights Project Manager it is my responsibility to manage our clients contracts from sales right through until our completion on site.
My favourite part of my role is working with oak frames, and the timelessness they bring to every build.
My favourite project is this beautiful farm house in Lancashire.
Stephen Kyle
Izzie Edey
Sales and Estimating Manager
I am responsible for encouraging the sales team to sell, and enabling the estimating team to effectively price all new projects
I love being part of a company focused on its people, and the passion that can be felt across the whole company for each individual house we build. As I am right at the beginning of the process, I get to see all the different types of buildings clients wish for us to produce, knowing that my team was part of the initial stages of that client’s dream.
Ellie Jude
Head of Estimating
In-house
My role is to produce 3D models and estimate associated costings for in-house and external Architectural designs.
I enjoying seeing such a broad range of house styles and working out how an oak frame will best compliment the architectural design
I love the Jennifer Nash project, I have been present at the open day several times and for me it is the kitchen/living space vaulting that I am drawn to every time.
Anna Davies-Wood
Senior Estimator
I produce 3D models of oak frame houses including the frame itself, our encapsulation system, joinery and face glazing. I then use these models to cost a project, producing a quotation and accompanying images for our potential clients.
There is quite a lot of day to day variation in the houses we see, from the most traditional oak frames to the radically modern. We can face many challenges incorporating oak in to some house designs but for some clients our estimating model will be the first 3D they have seen of their dream home. That is always a rewarding feeling.
One of my favourite projects had a nice blend of traditional and modern elements, complete with a secret door!
Mark Smith
My job is to produce sales quotes for prospective clients by creating 3D models in Sketchup software and using the data from those models to create an accurate quotation along with illustrative images. I also have to keep all costings spreadsheets, standard range model drawings and component lists up to date
Michal Klimek
Design Estimator
I like to imagine how building will look like and then draw it.
My favourite project has to be a two storey garage with lots of future trusses, sling braces and nice balcony that I was involved in. The attention to the oak details was amazing.
Sarah Smit
I am a design estimator for garages, outbuildings and extensions. I am responsible for designing 3D models in Sketch up software and creating a range of 3D images and elevations as well as the associated costings for prospective clients.
I enjoy working with traditional oak frame designs to create beautiful additional spaces to clients’ homes. I particularly like working on orangeries and creating images to illustrate how the planned orangery will enhance the home. The best bit about my job is the various projects that I get to work on every day, each one is bespoke and therefore a new challenge.
Molly Powell
I am an Estimator here at Oakwrights.
I really enjoy the creativity that comes with being an estimator. Creating visuals and quotes for the clients keeps the job fun and exciting as every day is different.
My favourite projects are anything with a King Post Truss. Each project that includes a king post truss’ really stands out for me, it is a great feature and a brilliant way to view oak internally within an oak frame.
Chloe Morgan
Mark Buxton
James Buchanan
Head of Custom Build
I am responsible for working with landowners, clients, and property businesses to facilitate, create, develop, and deliver unique serviced custom build plots to allow clients the ability to build their bespoke designed oak frame home.
I love the varied clients I get to work with on a daily, whilst at the same time being able to help influence and facilitate a self-builder in building their own home.
My favourite project has to be the Webbs Meadow development of 13 bespoke serviced custom build plots, where we have been able to deliver and sell all the custom build plots of varying sizes and layout, with 13 individual and unique house designs to the client’s exact needs and wants, facilitated via a number of different build options from self-build through to full turnkey builds.
Claire Morgan
Turnkey Manager
I am responsible for all Turnkey Projects at Oakwrights, from agreeing full build specification with clients to the day to day management of contractors on site and ensuring the project is delivered on time and within budget .
Being involved in a project from concept to completion means I am responsible for delivering the clients dream home which is ultimately the Oakwrights goal. No two days are ever the same.
The barn range in particular the Teme Barn is one of my favourites. A combination of red brick and weatherboard with beautiful face-glazed elevations being the focal point, allowing plenty of natural light into the large open-plan living spaces.
Freddie Friggens
Assistant Turnkey Project Manager and Design Team, Research and Development
My role is to deliver our clients their dream home by planning, executing, monitoring and controlling full house build projects. Investigating more efficient ways the design software can be used and streamlining design processes.
I enjoy interacting with clients and sharing their enthusiasm for their dream home. Also the sense of responsibilty to deliver client expectations. I also enjoy pushing the design software forward by investigating new possibilities. Not to mention meeting all of the fantastic people who work here who make everyday a pleasure!
My favourite oak project so far is the project I was working on, on site. Seeing the oak frame erected and seeing it interact with the encapsulation panels made everything come together from my work in the workshops, a very rewarding experience.
Michelle Corbin
Custom Build Administrator
I am responsible for contract administration and supporting the Custom Build team.
I love being part of an enthusiastic, passionate, and forward-thinking team that encourages and drives change to improve systems and processes, no two days are ever the same. Enjoy lunchtime walks with colleagues and some of us cycle, run, or go mountain walking together.
Being part of the front-line team we often take the initial enquiry and also speak to clients throughout their journey with us so hearing about their dreams becoming reality and that the Oakwrights team are part of that journey is very inspiring. I particularly love any projects involving tractors!
Samantha Watson

Jelena Taylor
Projects Co-ordinator
Scheduling and overseeing projects through Design and Production stages
There is something special about having traditionally built oak homes and estate buildings – they become not only your home and the centre of day-to-day life, but also part of your area heritage and contribution towards building history. It makes me proud to be a part of this and to help clients fulfil their dreams with the rest of the friendly and supportive Oakwrights team.
I have always admired full-frame oak buildings using Hammerbeam Truss design. It offers the sense of open space without emptiness in vaulted areas, allows to regard the beautifully crafted oak pieces and present strength, security and timber’s pliance to the powerful nature as well as man’s will.
