Each quarter our in-house and Regional Architectural teams meet up to share knowledge and view some of our past and present projects.
This quarters meeting took place in Surrey and the beautiful villages of Windelsham and Hambledon. The day was a great success catching up with our fellow Architectural Designers from around the country.
Our first stop was, a stunning house designed by Darren Blackwell, our Regional Architectural Designer from East Sussex. Darren’s design incorporates a traditional oak frame construction, set the beautiful village of Windelsham.
A three bedroom forever home in Willesdon
The weather was perfect for our viewing of this lovely home with hardly a cloud in the sky. The house sits flawlessly within the grounds of the site, blending in with the surrounding landscape. Internally the design boasts a spacious open plan ground floor with large spans of glass that extend the living space to the beautiful outdoors. Despite the planning constraints – being in a Conservation Area and Green Belt planning was successfully approved.
A two bedroom home in Hambledon
Our second visit of the day was in the village of Hambledon and the house, another house designed by Darren Blackwell.
Tucked away in the countryside, this stunning site benefits of 360-degree beautiful views. The site, which is still under construction, provided the opportunity for us to see how our roof panels are craned into position. Although another challenging planning scenario for this property, through a dragged and extended 2 stage process, planning was yet again successful in the end.
When completed our clients will be able to enjoy a spacious open plan living area for all the family and entertaining friends. The face-glazing designed on this home will frame the stunning views all year long with a never-ending changing picture of country sides as the seasons come and go.
We had a busy but very productive day and it gave us a great opportunity to share experience and learn a lot about Darren’s design ethos for each of the properties above. The weather was lovely and the views were beautiful with all smiley faces around!
