Event partnerships

We’ve had an exceedingly busy and incredibly rewarding summer here at Oakwrights. The first stop on our Summer Roadshow was The Game Fair at Ragley Hall, the biggest of its kind in the world; it celebrates British field sports and country life. The fair boasted a comprehensive itinerary for the whole family, including gundog handling, clay shooting, archery, fishing, falconry and ferreting. Visitors enjoyed a host of food, drink and shopping stalls as well as outdoor pursuits – there truly was something for everyone!

Even though the weather was mixed, spirits were high in celebrating the 60th anniversary of the show. In order to mark the special occasion we partnered with Honesberie Shooting School in Warwickshire, Rizzini Shotguns, Bentley of Birmingham and Gamebore Cartridges as well as Church Farm Brewery, Foxdenton Gin and Gazeburvill Furniture.

We built our 4 bay Winchester room over garage with a central glazed gable which provided an impressive display space for the day, as well as a spectacular event space for the evening. Land agents, Fisher German hosted Friday’s party where special guest James Haskell played a set from the garage balcony. The festivities carried on until the early hours and a very good time was had by all!

Even with all the merriment, thoughts quickly had to turn to Countryfile Live at Blenheim Palace which was to open in just a few days. To celebrate Countryfile’s 30th anniversary and our third year supporting the show, we built our ever popular 4 bay Gloucester room above garage. The upstairs space was dressed to perfection by Zest Home Staging in collaboration with Warehouse 701. This provided visitors the opportunity to see what can be achieved with the space upstairs, an office, a play room, a studio flat or a party barn.

As well as showing our Country Buildings range with our interactive garage showcase, we once again provided The Big Barn; home to guest speakers and talks at the show, situated directly opposite our Gloucester garage. The large 25m x 10m timber Big Barn was fully boarded and roofed, with a beautiful visible open frame structure and, in true Countryfile style, used rows of hay bales as seating for the audience.

The decision to collaborate has allowed Oakwrights to work closely with these varied partners to create a lifestyle stand; each business complementing one another to create an exciting and engaging atmosphere for fair-goers.

September will bring the last stop on our Summer Roadshow with our yearly visit to Goodwood Revival. This extraordinary event, recreates the golden era of Goodwood Motor Circuit, between 1948 and 1966; assembling the most significant racing cars and motorcycles along with legendary drivers and riders from the past and stars of today.  We will once again be showcasing our Gloucester Garage, so do make sure to pop by stand 357 & 358 to meet the team and see the splendour of our oak craftsmanship.
