Senior Frame Designer, Sara Edwards, has had the opportunity to not only further her career here at Oakwrights but add landscape planning as another service we can offer to our clients. Here is Sara’s story so far in her own words;
“Having been an Oakwrights’ frame designer for over four years, I saw an opportunity to increase the company’s skill set as well as continuing my professional development by enrolling into the UK’s premier garden design school, the Pickard School, in October 2017 to undertake their Diploma in Garden Design.
Being an avid amateur gardener and more than a bit plant obsessed, I have thoroughly enjoyed being immersed in the world of garden design and all it entails so far. The course involves creating garden designs for real clients and I find it deeply satisfying to produce beautiful outdoor spaces which will enrich their lives and satisfy their requirements, while overcoming the varying constraints of aspect, soil type and topography.
Bringing all this back to Oakwrights and the future, as our clients will know, landscaping schemes on planning permission decisions are invariably conditioned and should be discharged before work can commence on the build. I would like to announce that from autumn 2018, with my new Diploma in Garden Design, we will be able to offer the additional services of submitting landscaping and planting schemes with our planning applications on behalf of our clients if requested, and in addition to that, we could take the design through to detailed garden design with full planting plan ready for implementing on-site.
I am really looking forward to the opportunity to work with our clients to create beautiful gardens as the setting for their dream oak framed home.
