What is a custom build home and is it right for me?

In 2011, the UK Government introduced the term ‘custom build housing’ as part of a strategy to encourage the building of new homes and communities that have much more input and involvement from the client/homeowner than a typical housing development would offer.

Effectively, a custom build home project is close in nature to a true ‘self-build’ home, without having to go through stages such as land purchasing or the full planning process.

Here at Oakwrights, we’re fully committed to the custom build approach and partner with landowners and developers who are sympathetic to the unique styling and aesthetic of an oak framed house. If you’re currently looking for your dream plot, click here to view three unique custom build sites in Herefordshire.

With land available and with permission in place, our in-house Architectural Design team can work with you to create an oak frame home that’s tailored to your exact needs and lifestyle.
