Single storey garage

Our standard single storey oak framed garages are a beautiful addition to your home and are available with a variety of roof styles and pitches to perfectly suit your requirements.

Whether you require a single storey two bay or three bay garage, open fronted or closed, we have plans and designs to suit you and your project. For extra customisation, you can add doorways, windows and log stores, all helping to ensure you have the individuality you want from your oak framed garage.

Single storey oak garages have become increasingly popular over recent years as they fall within the elevation height restrictions set out under Permitted Development (PD). As long as your oak frame garage doesn’t exceed 50% of the curtilage (taking into account any existing extensions but not the main house), sit forward of the principal elevation, or exceed 2.5m maximum eaves height you will not require planning permission.

If you would like to talk through your garage aspirations, our design specialists will happily discuss what you can and can’t create within PD and guide you through the planning process should it be required with any of our two-storey garages.

Our beautiful single-storey range includes the Kenchester, Highgrove, Cotswold and Canterbury. All our garages are manufactured from high-quality green oak timber and produced by the finest craftsmen in the business.

The Kenchester

The Kenchester is a simple, cost effective oak framed car port that creates a spacious garage which offers great versatility used as its drawings show or as the starting point for a bespoke garage project.

This traditional two bay garage will complement your home while adding aesthetic beauty. The cat slide roof ensures the ridge height is kept low (under 4m to the ridge) whilst retaining adequate depth so most modern cars can be parked within it.

This model can be fitted by our team or supplied as a garage kit for your own team to erect.

The Canterbury

The Canterbury garage is a larger car port with bay widths of 3m allowing plenty of parking space for even the largest of modern cars. Due to this larger size, planning approval will need to be sorted. Being a service that we offer and having years of experience in planning permission, we can help guide you through the process from start to finish.

This single storey oak framed garage will blend seamlessly into its surroundings and can be customised to add multiple bays if required. The traditional cat slide roof ensures the ridge height is still relatively low when compared to the garages with a room above, whilst the internal floor
space is maximised with a depth of 6.4m.

We can supply all planning drawings for submission and the garage itself can be supplied as a kit for your own team to build or you can appoint our team to erect it on your behalf.

The Highgrove

The Highgrove oak framed garage shares the same footprint as the Kenchester but has a generous full height depth, without the cat slide roof. This provides a more useable timber garage, especially for larger vehicles. This garage can be fitted by our team or supplied as a garage kit.

The Cotswold

The Cotswold is a single storey garage utilising the Little Gloucester footprint. With larger bay sizes in width and depth to the other single storey models, it is a great option for maximising space. All of the frames within our timber garage collection provide generous enough space to cater for vehicles such as a Land Rover Discovery, however, The Cotswold provides even larger bays and space. This makes it the perfect choice for those with larger vehicles or requiring slightly more covered outside storage space.

Bespoke garages

While we have garage ranges to give inspiration, we understand that you may have individual requirements that these ranges may not fulfill. With this in mind, our design team would be happy to discuss your ideas and produce a garage that meets your exacting specification both aesthetically and functionally.
