Manuka Cottage in Herefordshire

The homeowners

Budding self-builders, Craig and LB, purchased Plot 2 on a development site in Herefordshire, with the vision of building their dream home.

Craig and LB fell in love with Manuka cottage; a bespoke oak frame design from our Cottage range. They liked the way the additional lean-to element allows for more space, along with the featured sunroom that will overlook their future garden.

They are not alone on this development site, as their friends Charlie and Helen have purchased Plot 1, with the view of building their own country-style cottage too.

The floorplans

Craig and LB altered certain aspects of the Manuka cottage’s floorplan from our Cottage range, to make the most of their Plot’s unique orientation.

Looking forwards, Craig and LB wanted to include a downstairs study so in the future they will have the option of a fourth bedroom. They chose to remove the downstairs cloakroom that is included within the original design of Manuka cottage, to make this space larger. It was also important for Craig and LB to create open-plan living, so they decided against the French doors that were separating the sunroom and sitting room, to form one beautifully flowing, bright space.
